WWE Rumors: Huge update on The Shield reuniting at Survivor Series

The Shield might be reuniting at Survivor Series this coming November.

The Shield is considered as one of the greatest stables in WWE history and for the first time in more than two years, all members are babyfaces. According to the latest rumors and rumblings backstage, there are plans to have The Shield reunion at this year's Survivor Series.

Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns are now all babyfaces due to Triple H helping Kevin Owens defeat Rollins to win the WWE Universal Championship. Even though The Architect has not officially turned face, he has been working as one in live events and house shows while also exhibiting babyface tendencies.

On the other hand, Reigns is still a polarizing figure that gets cheered and booed by the crowd every night. He is up against Rusev, who is an anti-American character, which means The Guy is still on the good side.

However, the same cannot be said for Ambrose, who just lost the WWE World Championship to A.J. Styles. The WWE teased a heel turn for The Lunatic in this week's SmackDown Live after hitting John Cena with Dirty Deeds.

Nevertheless, the turn for Rollins and Ambrose has not been official but the current plan for the trio is to have a mini-reunion at Survivor Series this November. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required), top officials are planning to reunite The Shield for one-night only.

It can only be done in one of the four big pay-per-views since Ambrose is on SmackDown while Rollins and Reigns are on Raw. The report noted that the former Shield brothers will do a big spot, likely a triple powerbomb, which could bring another buzz to the product.

The last time the three stars were in the ring was at Battleground when Ambrose defended the WWE World Title against Rollins and Reigns in a Triple Threat Match. The Lunatic came out victorious after pinning The Big Dog.

Last year's Payback also got a glimpse of a Shield reunion when the trio powerbombed Randy Orton during their Fatal 4-Way Match. However, Rollins was still a heel at the time and he ended getting beaten by Reigns and Ambrose.

According to Forbes, a reunion by The Shield is needed the most by Reigns, who still fails to get over the crowd. Nonetheless, an angle wherein the trio will form once again even for a night would make the WWE the talk of the town once again.
