Actors Jay Ryan (L) and Kristin Kreuk speak at the 'Beauty And The Beast' discussion panel during the CW portion of the 2012 Summer Television Critics Association tour at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on July 30, 2012 in Los Angeles, California.

"Beauty and the Beast" aired Season 4 finale. Season 4 episode 13 titled "Au Revoir" also happens to be the series finale bring The CW show to a close. Meanwhile, fans are still hoping to see Kristin Kreuk (Catherine "Cat" Chandler) and Jay Ryan (Vincent) cast return for Season 5. Read on for the detailed scoop.

"Beauty and the Beast" Season 5 will never happen. Due to low ratings the network cancelled the show after four seasons, as reported by Variety previously. The show has been "averaging a 0.6 rating in 18-49 and 1.6 million total viewers in 'live plus same-day.'"

"I truly like it as a summer series," CW President Mark Pedowitz told journalists during his executive session at CW's Television Critics Assn. press tour last summer. "One of our stated goals for the network was to have year-round programming. We're doing more and more of this, and having 'Beauty and the Beast' gives us some scripted programming for summer. We are developing other things at this point for next summer. So I plan to keep it there."

Loosely based on 1987 CBS series of the same name, "Beauty and the Beast" revolved around the romance of NYPD Detective Catherine Chandler and an ex-soldier Vincent Keller. He was thought to be dead for a long time before Cat met him.

For years the couple has been trying to cover Vincent's true identity of a beast. The couple got married at the beginning of Season 4. However, trouble was far from over for the couple. A new villain, Braxton wanted to expose Vincent.

In the finale, Cat and Vincent put their lives in danger to stop Braxton and they succeed. They live and move to Paris where they supposedly spend the rest of their lives happily together.

Meanwhile, Movie News Guide is reporting that even though the show is cancelled fans are hoping to see a spin-off version of the series. The website is speculating that the spin-off might revolve around Cat and Vincent's children. However, these are mere speculations. The network is yet to make an announcement.
