When "Jealously Incarnate" premiered on Aug. 24, observers of Hallyu were asking if the newest Korean drama has a chance of replicating the success of “Descendants of the Sun” in terms of establishing viewership records.

The series will be showing its 9th out of 24 episodes on Wednesday, Sept. 21. All indicators so far point to the show’s ratings suffering the same fate as the unlamented “Uncontrollably Fond.”

For episode 1, the show got a nationwide rating of 6.9 percent TNmS Ratings and 7.3 percent for AGB Nielsen. Since then until episode 8 aired on Sept. 15, the show got one-digit or low two-digit rating, the highest being 11.9 percent for episode 15 in Seoul National Capital Area’s AGB Nielsen.

Among the recent dramas after “Descendants of the Sun,” the only one that had better ratings was “W Two World” which also ended in September.

According to Movie New Guide, for episode 9, Hwa Shin, played by Cho Jung-Seok, has not expressed his real feelings for Pyo Na Ri, played by Kong Hyo-Jin. Jung Won, played by Ko Gyung-Pyo, also has not made a move for the woman he likes, while Pyo Na Ri does not realize that Hwa Shin has feelings for her.

In the previous episode, Hwa Shin set up a date between Jung Won, his best friend, and Pyo Na Ri. When he asked his best friend when did he began to have feelings for Pyo Na Ri, Jung Won answered since their first meeting in Thailand.
