Chris Pratt fishing hobby at ‘Magnificent Seven’ set angers property owner

Chris Pratt recently revealed how his love for fishing helped him de-stress while filming the western movie "Magnificent Seven." The Hollywood star also shared that the owner of the property where the movie was shot became furious with him because of his hobby.

The "Guardians of the Galaxy" actor, along with his some of his "Magnificent Seven" co-stars, attended a SiriusXM Townhall event held on Sept. 19, Monday. The cast talked about their experiences while filming the said project and other interesting details. In a video clip of the said event posted on SiriusXM, Pratt recounted the moments when he would go fishing at some of the ponds located near the filming location.

The actor explained that one of the movie's filming sites was located at a private land in Louisiana's Rose Creek where the ponds were stocked with bass. He recalled the times when filming activities stopped due to the rain. He commented that while some of the film's cast and crew members felt frustrated with the situation, but he considered the filming break as his chance to go fishing.

Pratt shared that he accumulated hundreds of hours of fishing time while filming the said western movie. Cast member Denzel Washington then asked the "Jurassic World" star whether he cooked the bass that he caught or let it go. The actor replied that he released some of the fish but handed a few of the bass over to the production's catering staff to be cooked.

However, the owner of the private property became furious when the actor's fishing hobby was uncovered. Ethan Hawke recounted the moment when the film's cast and crew members received a warning from the property owner after Pratt uploaded a photo of his fishing adventures on Instagram.

Pratt commented that he understood the owner's anger and frustration since he caught a lot of fish while filming the movie. He stated, "And she should be. They were really nice fish and I caught all of them."

Meanwhile, the actor also made mention of his fishing hobby at the "Magnificent Seven" filming location in an interview with Parade. He recalled how he would spend his daily break fishing at the pond. Pratt even described the experience as "awesome."

"Magnificent Seven" will hit U.S. movie theaters on Sept. 23.
