It is just a matter of hours before "The Blacklist" Season 4 returns to the big screen. The first two episodes will reportedly focus on the relationship between Elizabeth "Liz" Keen (Megan Boone) and Raymond "Red" Reddington (James Spader).

After a grilling Season 3 finale, "The Blacklist" Season 4 premiere will see Red working hard to track down Tom Keen. Finding Tom is important since it will be a step away from finding the abducted Liz and her daughter, Agnes.

Red currently feels betrayed by Liz. According to Melty, Liz has unfinished business with Red because their relationship is central to the show. On the other hand, fans will be excited to watch how the rest of the FBI task force reacts after discovering that Liz is very much alive.

Season 3 ended with a cliffhanger when Alexander Kirk showed up and claimed to be Liz's biological father. The revelation brought the existence of Red into jeopardy. Fans should wait to discover the mystery during "The Blacklist" Season 4 premiere.

Episode 1 titled "Esteban" will see the betrayed Red hunting for Liz. Similarly, the task force will discover Liz's secret, wherein their reaction might affect the former's search for the latter. This is true especially since episode 2 synopsis suggests that Red will take help from Tom. While Liz will be missing from the scene in episode 2 titled "Mato," the former FBI profiler will be having trust issues with Kirk.

"Kirk will offer some incredibly compelling truths that are hard to refute and truths that I think Raymond Reddington is not happy to have exposed," creator Jon Bokenkamp told TV Guide.

The series creator added that Kirk is well aware of Red's past, besides understanding the true connection between Red and Liz. The revelation will be crucial to the plot of the show when Season 4 returns.

A major question now is whether or not Red will find Liz and whether his identity will be exposed. "The Blacklist" Season 4 returns on Sep. 22 on NBC. Here is a sneak peek for further information on the upcoming season:
