The recent trailer of "Dark Souls III" heightened fans' expectation, as it revealed the gameplay and introduced a new boss in the game.
Based on the trailer, players will have to take a journey to Ariandel, an extremely frozen and cold place. The expansion is titled "Ashes of Ariandel" but the exact plot of the game has yet to be revealed. Players are expected to unveil the mystery surrounding the area.
According to GameSpot, the sudden change of location will expose the players to many secrets and puzzles that they have to solve as they progress in their journey. They will be facing new enemies, weapons, magic, and obstacles. The players' mission is to look for the roots on why Ariendel, once a beautiful and wonderful place, turned into being cold and frozen.
Along with the trailer are the screenshots where a picture of one of the enemies who look like Crown Demon can be seen.
Ashes of Ariandel is one of the two packs of expansions for "Dark Souls III" scheduled to be released. Accordingly, this costs $15 in all major consoles such as PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and fans can expect this to be out on Oct. 25.
Meanwhile, a season pass was also released and this is available for only $25. There is no news yet as to the title and launch date of the second, and probably the last, downloadable content for "Dark Souls 3," but it is expected to come out next year.
But the most shocking news of all is the reiteration of the developers themselves that they will no longer continue the franchise, although they are not closing the idea of bringing back the game in the future. It is rumored that the company is planning on releasing HD remakes of their games, including "Dark Souls 3," although Miyazaki haven't said anything about the issue yet.
"Ashes of Ariandel" is set to conquer Xbox One, PS4 and PC platforms on Oct. 25.
