For the “Cranes in the Sky” video of Solange Knowles, the singer went nude but was covered by gold body paint. The video is part of the promotional material for Solange’s first album, launched on Friday, in four years, “A Seat at the Table.”

But while stripping, the 30-year-old singer-songwriter, and sister of Beyonce, also wore at least 14 outfits in the video, directed by husband Alan Ferguson and released on Sunday, reported US Magazine.

Among the outfits that Solange modeled were a dress made of pink plastic, gown made of dry cleaning bags and a mini dressnmade of large green leaves. One purple outfit, made of an Issey Miyake-inspired frock with materials in between them, fitted Solange and six friends.

Also a standout in the video were the assorted styles of her hair which included beaded plaits inspired by Patrice Rushen, an R&B singer, and a short wig with finger waves that framed her face.

Because her new album is being compared to Beyonce’s “Lemonade,” Solange explained, “We have the same mother and the same father. We grew up in the same household, and so we had and heard the same conversations … It shouldn't be surprising that two people who grew up in the same household with the same parents who are very, very aware — just like everyone else is — of all of the inequalities and the pain and suffering of our people right now, would create art that reflects that.”

Solange was referring to black womanhood and the Black Lives Matter movement since her third album is about black survival in 2016. It combined straight talk and refracted R&B to project identity, empowerment, independence, grief and healing, reported Rolling Stone.
