GOT7 arrive for the 24th Seoul Music Awards at the Olympic Park on January 22, 2015 in Seoul, South Korea.

GOT7 member Jinyoung is reportedly being tapped to take part in the upcoming drama series "The Legends of the Blue Sea," which will star Hallyu actor and actress Lee Min Ho and Jun Ji Hyun.

As per reports, Jinyoung is being considered to play the younger version of Lee Min Ho's character. In an official statement reported by allkpop, JYP Entertainment said that GOT7's Jinyoung is currently reviewing an appearance in "The Legend of the Blue Sea."  He's not confirmed, but if he does appear, he would likely be entering as the younger version of Lee Min Ho.

If this would push through, this would be Jinyoung's fifth appearance in a drama series. He previously starred in "Dream High 2," "When a Man Falls in Love," "Dream Knight" and "Beloved Eun Dong."

Meanwhile, Lee Min Ho and Jun Ji Hyun began filming "The Legends of the Blue Sea" in August this year. According to Drama Fever, the filming location is in Goesan, Chungbuk, a mountainous yet scenic region in South Korea.

The cast and crew of "The Legends of the Blue Sea" also travelled to Palau and Spain where several scenes were filmed.

"The Legends of the Blue Sea" is inspired by the classic Joseon Dynasty legend about a fisherman who captured a mermaid, but subsequently releases her. Lee Min Ho will play a dual role in the series. He will play Kim Moon, the son of a noble family in the Joseon era and Heo Joon Jae, a con artist in the present time who uses various disguises to scam people. This has led to speculations that the character will find a connection between the Joseon Kingdom and modern-day South Korea.

On the other hand, Jun Ji Hyun will take on the role of Shim Chung, the mermaid whom Lee's Kim Moon captures. "The Legends of the Blue Sea" is Jun's first role after giving birth to her first child in February this year.

The highly-awaited drama series is written by Park Ji Eun, the creative genius behind the massive ht "My Love From the Star," and will be directed by Jin Hyuk, who worked with Lee Min Ho on "City Hunter."
