The ACWF has been active in promoting women's empowerment.

A Chinese women’s organization has launched a campaign about the defense of women’s rights in Beijing on Feb. 27, encouraging all other advocates and federations in all levels to unite for the cause.

The All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) has initiated the March 8 Campaign in Defense of Women's Rights in order to create connections among women's federations and organizations toward their common goal of empowering women.

A report from Women of China revealed that the campaign seeks to unite more than 700,000 activity centers for women all over the country through showing different levels of women's rights organizations in the country "to respect, learn, observe and employ law."

During the launch held at the women's activity center of Xiaoxin Village in the Tongzhou District of Beijing, an audience comprised mostly of women and children were treated with a drama produced and performed by residents of the locality.

The drama tackled topics such as legal knowledge on their rights as well as who to run to (lawyers and judges) when they encounter women's right oppression.

ACWF Vice President and first member Song Xiuyan also discussed to the audience the importance of nurturing knowledge about the law and using it when dealing with conflicts and problems especially with their civil rights.

This activity, which came in the wake of President Xi Jinping's call for "the rule of law" in the country, became popular among women in the Xiaoxin Village who were given fundamental legal knowledge.

As a result, they have participated in multi-level governance in different sectors, making sure to apply what they learned from the activity.
