Venezuela remains as the only winless side in the 10-team CONMEBOL table after nine matchdays in the ongoing World Cup qualifying tournament. They managed to score two draws, though, to register two points in the overall standings.

La Vinotinto was thrashed by current tournament leaders Uruguay, 0-3, in their last match held at the latter's home field of Estadio Centenario in Montevideo on Oct. 6, as per SB Nation.

The hosts began the scoring at the 29th minute with a shot from midfielder Nicolás Lodeiro off a pass coming from resident striker Luis Suárez, which put Venezuela at a one-point disadvantage at the break.

Head coach Rafael Dudamel's squad was not able to find the equalizer, but instead gave up two more goals in the second half, courtesy of Uruguay's other striker, Edinson Cavani, who scored a double at the 46th and 79th minutes, completing the lopsided victory.

Meanwhile, Brazil extended its winning run to three games after demolishing lowly team Bolivia, 5-0, at the Arena das Dunas, Natal also on Oct. 6, Daily Mail Online reported.

Suárez 's Barcelona teammate, Neymar, was the man of the match after he scored a goal and assisted on two others en route to the five-goal win.

Neymar opened the scoring at the 11th minute, directing a pass from striker Gabriel Jesus toward the back of Bolivia keeper Carlos Lampe's net. Winger Philippe Coutinho then hit a goal at the 26th to make it a two-point lead for the Seleção.

Head coach Tite's side scored two more goals before the halftime interval, with shots from Filipe Luis and Jesus at the 39th and 44th minutes, for a 4-0 Brazil lead at the break. Neymar provided the assist in both occasions.

Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino completed the five-goal haul with a goal at the 75th minute with Coutinho providing the assist.
