NBA rumors are heating up once more around Ricky Rubio as Minnesota Timberwolves acquired a rookie point guard from the draft. As a result of this acquisition, NBA trade rumors regarding Rubio's trade potential destination are once again resurfacing.

In the past months, there have been strong speculations that the Spanish NBA star will soon be dealt with by the Wolves. Now that a promising rookie has been acquired by Minnesota it is being espoused that the team may now be ready to let go of a "point-guard who can't shoot," especially if the upcoming rookie, Kris Dunn, will produce more than Rubio's dazzling passes and capable defense, according to FoxSports.

The name of Rubio first entered the international scene when basketball fans worldwide got captivated with his unique talent and skills. The NBA then noticed his potential as a future superstar in the league. Thus, young Rubio was drafted by David Kahn as part of their team and as a legitimate point guard. And if were not for ACL tear, the young Rubio would have made it as the Rookie of the Year.

But then all of those are in the past. Kevin Love is gone, and new rookie Kris Dunn has arrived and is said to be quintessential Tom Thibodeau point guard. And such turn of events led to various NBA trade rumors of Rubio future in the Wolves and his potential team.

One of the many articles concerning the potential trade of Rubio to other teams, the San Antonio Spurs are pegged as the top destination by those who have hypothesized despite uncertainties of trade. It is being viewed that Rubio might be the best compliment to Tony Parker as his protégé as Parker's era would soon pass by.

The addition of Rubio in the Spurs line-up will surely set another perfect playmaker compliment to Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge, according to SportsIllustrated. Apart from that, personality wise, Rubio's unselfish and unorthodox approach will surely fit the Popovich's Spurs program, not to mention his European descent. With his unquestionable passing ability and defending capability, Rubio will have chance to prove himself and display his former European glory in the NBA with ease in a very competitive team like the Spurs.

Still, it is not just Spurs that is being considered as future trade destination of Rubio as most NBA rumors would suggest. Other teams are also being mentioned like the Sacramento Kings and its unsound trade theory for Rudy Gay. Guess we would just have to wait and see how the Timberwolves would deal with the coming of a new PG and with the future of Ricky Rubio.
