WWE Rumors: The Undertaker, Kurt Angle among possible superstar returns at the Royal Rumble

The Undertaker tries to catch his breathe during a match against Brock Lesnar.

The WWE will hold the 2017 Royal Rumble at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas and top officials are looking to fill the 65,000-stadium. It will be a very difficult task to do for the company but superstars such as The Undertaker and Kurt Angle could help sell out the event.

According to The Inquisitr, The Undertaker and Angle are two of the possible legends who can appear at the 2017 Royal Rumble. It is noted that these are just mere suggestions but never say never in wrestling in terms of former stars coming back.

The Undertaker has not appeared on WWE television since WrestleMania 32 when he defeated Shane McMahon in a Hell in a Cell Match. He reportedly told Vince McMahon that the match against Shane was his last.

However, the WWE has not confirmed the retirement of The Undertaker as they are still in contact with him for a possible appearance at the Royal Rumble. Many fans are hoping that The Deadman is not done wrestling and everyone is hoping to see one more match from him.

On the other hand, Angle has been campaigning for a return to the WWE since leaving TNA Wrestling. He has made it clear that he wants to bury the hatchet with Vince and Triple H. But his dark past is a big factor on his possible return.

Angle has a history of drug and drinking problems but he has since been sober for three years. He also has a surgically-repaired neck which means he does not have control of his wrestling future. In a recent appearance on The Ric Flair podcast, he updated fans about his possible return to the WWE.

"If I go back to WWE it would most likely be the year or year after. I did talk with Triple H a few months ago, very loose conversation. They have interest, I have interest. They don't know what to do with me yet, you know, it was more of a loose conversation," Angle said

The Royal Rumble is the WWE's first big pay-per-view for 2017 and it kicks off the Road to WrestleMania 33. An appearance by The Undertaker and Angle will clearly get a lot of people buzzing while also setting up possible retirement matches at the Grandest Stage of Them All.
