| Oct 11, 2016 05:26 PM EDT

'Tokyo Ghoul' is a TV anime produced by Studio Pierrot based on the manga of the same name.

Will "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 release date come earlier than its expected 2017 airing?

Despite Studio Pierrot's silence about the highly anticipated third season of the manga turned anime series, it can be remembered that it has been earlier reported that "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 release date has reportedly been confirmed to arrive in 2016, when-will-net claimed. Now rumors are starting to spread that a possible date might come sometime in winter.

Apparently, the huge success of Sui Ishida's serialized manga is the cause of an early release date. It's been reported that the creators of the equally successful anime are now pressured to complete "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 sooner than the original plan.

While there's still no concrete details about the anime's release date given that no official announcement has been made, there are reports of possible spoilers to the plot of "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3.

Following the tepid reception of season 2, the anime's creators were left with no choice but to stay true to the manga's storyline, in which, the anime's main protagonist, Ken Kaneki, is expected to lose his memory following his defeat from Kishou Arima.

The question now is, will Kaneki finally become an investigator in "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 just like what happened in the manga series? If that's the case then it's definitely going to be a welcome change to the loyal fans of the manga.

Additionally, an alleged source claimed that a writer, reportedly named Bob, who currently working on "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 reveals that fans could expect darker and more twisted scenes from the anime. However, this news should be taken with a grain of salt since it's known that Chūji Mikasano is the person responsible for the anime's storyline.

The rumor mill may have started with the supposed involvement of Madhouse to the development of the anime. The giant Japanese animation studio is well known for its gory plots, iTech Post reported.

While "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 release date has yet to be established, "Tokyo Ghoul: re," is confirmed to debut in Fall of 2017. From its creator Sui Ishida, the sequel to the manga is set following the events of the main series where Haise Sasaki will be seen overseeing a group of disruptive Ghoul Investigators as they try to track down and defeat the dreadful ghoul named "Torso." Lastly, here are some fan theories on the upcoming season.
