Andy Murray will look to carry on with his remarkable bid at the Shanghai Masters 2016 when the Scot faces Frenchman Gilles Simon in the semifinal round of the ATP 1000 Masters event.

Murray has yet to drop a single set and continues to dominate the Shanghai Masters. The second seed Murray once again showed his fine form in China after defeating Belgian David Goffin in their quarterfinal showdown 6-2 6-2.

"It was a tough match. I struck the ball really well and created a lot of chances on my return game," Murray said, reports the BBC.

The win gave Murray a spot in the semifinal round, where the three-time Grand Slam winner will face world No. 32 Simon, who advanced into the last-four stage after beating American Jack Sock in three sets 4-6 6-4 7-6(5).

Simon has been riding an impressive run of his own in Shanghai, stunning Stan Wawrinka in their third rounds showdown before dismissing Sock, but it would prove him difficult to score a victory over Murray, who has an overwhelming 14-2 lead over the 31-year-old Frenchman in their FedEx ATP Head2Head matchup.

Their last meeting was earlier this year at the Madrid Open, where Murray defeated Simon in straight sets. Simon's last victory over Murray came in Rotterdam a year ago, but considering Murray's form this season, it would be difficult for the Frenchman to duplicate those results.

The winner between Murray and Simon will get to face world No. 1 Novak Djokovic or Roberto Bautista Agut. Djokovic escaped from elimination after defeating Germany's Mischa Zverev 3-6 7-6(4) 6-3, while Bautista Agut stunned ninth seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in their quarterfinal clash 6-3 6-4.
