Andy Murray is now primed to win his third crown at the Shanghai Rolex Masters, with Novak Djokovic eliminated from the tournament. But Murray, who is closing in on Djokovic in the world rankings, must get past Spain's Roberto Bautista Agut in the final round of the ATP 1000 Masters event.

Murray continues his stellar performance at the Shanghai Masters 2016, seeing off France's Gilles Simon in their semifinal clash with a 6-4 6-3 victory. Murray, who is slowly closing in on Djokovic in the world rankings, has said being world No. 1 is a goal, but admitted after his victory over Simon that he is not thinking about achieving such feat this season.

"I said that I want to try to get to number one, but I'm still quite far away from [Djokovic], so I'm not thinking about the number one ranking this week or right now," Murray said, reports the BBC.

"I just want to finish this year as best as I can, it's been the most successful in my career. The last few months have been some of the most consistent I have been, so I just want to keep it going until the end of the year and finish as strong as possible."

Murray was broken in the first game of the match, which set the tone for a gripping semifinal match, but pulled away from Simon to seal his slot in the final round of the ATP 1000 Masters event, where he will face Roberto Bautista Agut, who stunned Djokovic in the semifinals 6-4 6-4.

"I can't describe how I feel. I'm so happy. I played really good tennis this week, and I hope to play the same tennis tomorrow in the final," Bautista Agut said, reports the ATP's official website.

Murray has faced Bautista Agut twice and leads the Spaniard by 2-0 in their FedEx ATP Head2Head matchup. Their last meeting was in last year's BMW Open in Munich, where Murray beat the 28-year-old Spaniard in their semifinal showdown.
