BLACKPINK comeback is scheduled in November and will reportedly promote two title songs.
YG CEO Yang Hyun Suk confirmed that the girls will be back on stage on November 1 with a new mini album, Square Two. The YG new girl group first album was entitled Square One.
YG teased the girls' comeback via "Who's Next?", which the company used to announce the impending promotion of its artists in the coming weeks. The titles of the tracks remained unknown, but it is a no brainer that the girls will bring back their swag and YG strong image that reminds us of 2NE1.
It has been seven years since the debut of 2NE1 and YG Entertainment has not debuted any girl group in between. However, 2NE1 was put in a halt after main vocal Park Bom's drug scandal. This led to the departure of maknae Minzy from the group and the label. With three active male groups currently under the agency, YG was in need of a flagship female group.
BLACKPINK debuted on Aug. 8 and dropped two music videos - "BOOMBAYAH" and "Whistle" that received an all-kill status in various music charts. The group is set to release six more songs as part of their debut. Thus, two done, four to go.
As the new girl group is gaining steam, the profile of each member is gaining attention from the media and netizens. YG Entertainment has officially revealed the members of BLACKPINK - Jennie Kim, Lalisa Manoban, Kim Jisoo, and Park Roseanne.
Before their debut as YG's next generation of female group, the members increased the hype by appearing in ads and taking individual projects like modeling and music collaboration. Moreover, the dance practice video of the group went viral that showed off their immense talents.
