"The Vampire Diaries" final season, freshman episode already aired on Oct. 21, Friday, and viewers are not dropping their hope to see one of their favorite characters before the show finally say goodbye. Ever since Nina Dobrev left the show, her fans have been wishing to see her returning to The CW's vampire drama.
Luckily, the show's creator and showrunner Julie Plec left some bombshells that made Dobrev's fans more excited. There is a high possibility that the Bulgarian-Canadian actress will make a come back to "The Vampire Diaries" final season.
"I feel very good about it," Plec told Entertainment Online. "She and I have spoken and I know that she 100 percent wants to be there."
Plec admitted that she eagerly wanted Dobrev to be part of the show's season finale. However, the only thing that is getting in the way is the busy schedule of the actress. Although the showrunner does not want to elaborate more, she assured that she will be shattered if the plan will not push through, while adding that she believes that the cards will be in their favor.
With the strong words of Plec, fans of Dobrev can now expect that it is only a matter of time before they will be able to see Elena again in "The Vampire Diaries" final season. She added that Elena may likely appear in the background in Damon Salvatore's (Ian Somerhalder) memories.
It can also be noted that Dobrev's character never really faded from the show. In fact, in the Season 7 final episodes, Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) continued to write in the diary to keep Elena updated with what has been happening with them. It is the way the show has kept Elena alive, according to US Weekly.
The "Dear Diary" is a form of nostalgia that brings back memory lane from Season 1. It is not the only thing that honors the past seasons. "The Vampire Diaries" final season episode titles will be based from the former season's famous lines such as "Hello, Brother," "Today Will Be Different" and "You Decided That I Was Worth Saving."
As "The Vampire Diaries" continues, people may expect to see familiar faces in the Mystic Falls, including Tyler (Michael Trevino), who is set to appear in episode 3. Plec also teased that a crossover of "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Originals" may happen before the series ends.
