Everton has settled at the sixth spot of the current league table after going on a four-game winless streak. The team will be without Leighton Baines and James McCarthy against the Hammers with the former still nursing a hamstring injury while the latter has developed the same problem.

The Toffees were nipped by newly-promoted side Burnley, 2-1, on the road at the Turf Moor on Oct. 22 for their fourth consecutive winless game, as per Sports Mole.

Welsh forward Sam Vokes opened the scoring in the 39th minute after a crucial mistake by Everton goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg, giving the hosts a 1-0 lead at the half.

Head coach Ronald Koeman's side was able to level the count in the 58th, though, courtesy of a goal from Congolese midfielder Yannick Bolasie.

The game looked headed to a 1-1 draw, but the Clarets were able to find the winning goal right at the stroke of halftime with a goal from Canadian midfielder Scott Arfield.

Meanwhile, West Ham pulled off a 1-0 win over cellar-dwelling team Sunderland at their home field of London stadium also on Oct. 22, BBC Sport reported.

Australian defender Winston Reid scored the lone goal of the contest in injury time to help the Hammers pull off the last minute victory against the Black Cats.

It was the second consecutive win for head coach Slaven Bilić's team after previously going on a four-game winless slide.

West is currently at the 16th place in the overall standings, three points above the bottom three relegation zone.
