Angry Dog Owner

In September, a video of a Fujian woman walking a young man as her pet dog went viral. The video depicts how people treat fellow human beings that sometimes the real dog is treated better than people.

This was clearly illustrated in a recent incident in Lanzhou when a male dog owner beat a 50-year-old female street cleaner who attempted to stop the man’s corgi from pooping on the street. The offense went beyond the physical attack.

To illustrate how some rich people look down on the working class, the pet owner berated the sanitation worker on Wednesday with a powerful line often heard in soap operas. He was quoted as saying, “My dog is worth more than your life!” Shanghaiist reported.

The street cleaner was brought to a nearby hospital for treatment. The dog owner eventually admitted he was wrong and said sorry to his victim, other sanitation workers and the police. He settled the case by agreeing to pay for the 1,100 yuan medical expenses and her 500 yuan lost income, Nextshark reported.

Just to illustrate how privileged some dogs in China are compared to ordinary people, Coco, an Alaskan Malamte owns eight new iPhone 7s given to the dog by its owner, Wang Sicong, only son of the richest Chinese billionaire Wang Jianlin. Besides the iPhones, Coco wears an Apple Watch on each paw.

The privileged dog got his new iPhone 7s, used for taking its selfies, on Sept. 16, the day the new Apple smartphone, which costs more than $1,000 each, became available in China.
