‘Bad Moms’ sequel likely to happen: directors Jon Lucas and Scott Moore

"Bad Moms" starring Mila Kunis as Amy joins Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn in the comedy adventure that will set them free from their daily routines and stressful responsibilities.

After the 2016 comedy film marked a great success on the big screens during the summer, talks about "Bad Moms" sequel is hitting the headlines. It was a huge achievement for STX Entertainment after "Bad Moms" grossed more than $179 million, hitting the record as the first movie released by STX Entertainment to cross over $100 million.

For this reason, everyone is speculating on "Bad Moms" sequel. Directors Jon Lucas and Scott Moore cleared the speculations and revealed that "Bad Moms 2" is indeed their priority, even before the rumored "Bad Dads," in which they are not actively involved in.

"Our goal right now, first and foremost, is to make "Bad Moms 2,"" Lucas told Cinema Blend in a phone interview. "To find out a way to get the sequel off the ground, because we had such a great experience making the movie.

Lucas boasted that their goal now is to make "Bad Moms" sequel because they really enjoyed making the film. He compared the comedy movie to "Police Academy," where they will never get tired of making up to 10 sequels. Moore added that they are more focused on starting "Bad Moms 2" because he believes that the characters are so good that they can even make as much as 10 movies.

It as earlier announced that STX Entertainment is expanding its grounds after the box-office hit "Bad Moms." "Bad Dads" is part of STX Entertainment's other projects that include a reality TV show, short form digital content, and a robust consumer products program, according to Independent.The "Bad Moms" spin-off is planned to be released on July 14, 2017. The cast of "Bad Dads" are still under wraps for now.

"Bad Moms" follows the story of Amy, a hardworking and successful career mother, who struggles to maintain an ideal home and career. In order to break free from her stressful career, she showed off her rebellious style as she joined her buddies Bell and Hahn's characters.

The movie also stars Jada Pinkett Smith, Christina Applegate and Annie Mumolo. "Bad Moms" will be available in home videos on Nov. 1.
