Bottom three club US Citta di Palermo (1-7-3, 6 points) will try to climb out of the relegation area as the team squares off with third-running team AC Milan (7-3-1, 22 points) in a 2016-2017 Serie A season match at the Renzo Barbera Stadium on Nov. 6, Sunday.

Palermo is currently at the 19th spot of the 20-team Italian top flight table after 11 rounds of competitions. The club is on a four-game losing streak as they are also winless in their last six outings.

Their last match was a 1-2 defeat in the hands of newly-promoted side Cagliari on the road at the Sant'Elia Stadium on Monday, as per ESPN.

After the first half ended in a goalless draw, the hosts then broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute courtesy of a strike by Italian midfielder Daniele Dessena from a pass by fellow midfielder Davide Di Gennaro.

Dessena then scored again in the 64th to complete his brace and give a two-point lead to Gli Isolani with the assist this time coming from forward Marco Sau.

Palermo was able to score a consolation goal in the 79th minute with a left-footed shot from Macedonian striker Ilija Nestorovski off a cross from defender Andrea Rispoli.

Meanwhile, AC Milan bounced back from a humiliating 0-3 defeat to Genoa in the previous round by nipping Pescara, 1-0, at their home ground of Giuseppe Meazza Stadium last Sunday, via Reuters.

Italian midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura netted the lone goal of the contest four minutes after the second half started with a right-footer to the bottom left corner following a free kick.

It was Milan's fourth win in their last five games as head coach Vincenzo Montella's side is also unbeaten in seven of their last eight matches.
