Millie Brown attends the Premiere of Netflix's 'Stranger Things' at Mack Sennett Studios on July 11, 2016 in Los Angeles, California.

"Stranger Things" Season 2 will feature the return of a fan-favorite character in the hit Netflix series. Millie Bobby Brown is said to reprise her role as Eleven in the upcoming new season.

The science fiction series "Stranger Things" became one of the popular shows on Netflix shortly after it aired its first episode. Released in July, the series received positive reviews as it featured the mysterious events in an Indiana town and the adventures of Will's (Noah Schnapp) friends and a telekinetic girl.

Portrayed by British child star Brown, the telekinetic girl named Eleven became one of the show's most memorable characters. Many viewers are even expecting to see the said character in the second season of the Netflix series. However, neither Netflix nor the series' showrunners have yet to confirm Brown's appearance in the show.

Despite the lack of news about the British actress' involvement in the series, sources told TV Line that Brown will indeed reprise her role in "Stranger Things" Season 2. The young star is expected to have a recurring role in the show's upcoming nine-episode run.

Meanwhile, showrunner Shawn Levy gave a candid remark during an interview with io9 where he shared his thoughts on Brown's speculated appearance. He declined to comment on the actress' potential involvement, however, Levy teased that the Netflix series' confirmed cast member list will soon be unveiled.

The "Stranger Things" producer also made mention of the show's unexpected success and his apprehensions about the series' new season. He even recounted the time when they pitched the show to Netflix executives without any idea that it would gain a huge fan base shortly after its premiere.

The Netflix show's popularity became evident during the recent Halloween holiday where many children dressed up as characters of the series. After participating in an annual Trick or Treat affair, the showrunner admitted that his "mind was blown" when he personally witnessed the dozens of people who emulated Eleven and other characters.

"Stranger Things" Season 2 is expected for release in 2017 on Netflix. Watch some of the highlights from Season 1 below:
