Xiaomi has released Redmi Note 4 to replace the highly popular Redmi Note 3. It is currently available in China and is expected to release in other markets soon. Its arrival may clash with the release of Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) next year.

Design and Display
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 comes with metal unibody design having a thickness of 8.4 mm and it weighs only 175 gram. It is available in three color options like Silver, Gray and Gold.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) is also likely to have a full metal body. It is rumored to be slimmer than Galaxy J7 (2016) that measures 7.8 mm in thickness. The Galaxy J7 (2017) will probably arrive in color choices of White, Black, Gold and Rose Gold like Galaxy J7 (2016) model comes with, TheBitBag reported.
The Redmi Note 4 has 5.5-inch full HD screen with the resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a pixel density of 401ppi. The Galaxy J7 (2017) is also expected to have 5.5-inch full HD display that will deliver a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels.
Chipset, RAM and Storage
The Redmi Note 4 is powered by MediaTek Helio X20 processor that includes a deca-core 2.1 GHz CPU and Mali-T880 GPU. It is available in two variants of in-built storage and RAM.
The standard version variant comes with 16 GB of native storage and 2 GB of RAM whereas the higher variant has 64 GB in-built storage and 3 GB of RAM. Both the variants come with microSD card support.
The Galaxy J7 (2017) is expected to receive power from Exynos chipset that is made by Samsung. Rumors have it may feature Exynos 7870 chipset that resides in Galaxy J7 Prime. It is pegged to feature 3 GB RAM along with 32 GB of native storage. As Galaxy J7 (2016) features a microSD card slot, its successor is also expected to carry support for it.
Software and Camera
The Redmi Note 4 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS skinned with MIUI 8.0. It is equipped with 13-megapixel primary camera with dual tone LED flash and 5-megapixel secondary camera with full HD video recording support.
The Galaxy J7 (2017) may come preinstalled with Android 6.0 Marshmallow like Galaxy J7 Prime. Fresh rumors suggest that it may have 13-megapixel rear camera and front facing camera of 8-megapixel.
Battery, Price, Release Date
The Redmi Note 4 comes with 4,100 mAh battery with fast charging support whereas Galaxy J7 (2017) is expected to house a 3,000 mAh battery.
The Note 4 is currently available only in China at a price of RMB 899 ($135) for the 16 GB variant and RMB 1199 ($180) for the 64 GB variant.
As far as Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) is concerned, it has been found listed on Indian import-export site, Zauba with a price tag of Rs 13,686 ($205), Price Raja reported. At launch, it may cost nearly Rs 15,000 ($ 225). It is expected to get official announcement in the first quarter of 2017. The Redmi Note 4 is also rumored to be availble outside the China by Q1 2017.
