Game developer Blizzard just announced the free weekend deal for "Overwatch" with no special keys or sign-up codes needed. The free weekend deal of the hit first-person multiplayer shooter will be made available on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One from Nov. 18 at 11 am PT to Nov. 21 at 4 pm PT respectively.
The "Overwatch" free weekend deal is consist of unlocking the full roster of 33 heroes and 13 maps that are all playable in a selection of features including Quick Play, Custom Games, the latest Weekly Brawl and the training mode for novices. All modes are tailored for 6vs6 competitors. New players can also level up, obtain Loot Boxes and enable a variety of different customization options. The timetable for the free weekend launch can be viewed in the official announcement at the "Overwatch" site.
All progress made by new players during the free weekend deal are retained, as posted in the announcement. However, trophies and achievements will be excluded as they are disabled for the free deal. All retained data will be stored in the same Battle.net, Xbox Live or Sony Entertainment account used during the free weekend deal; if ever players decided to buy a new copy of "Overwatch" to continue playing.
Despite having recently announced in BlizzCon 2016 and made available for the Public Test Realm (PTR) in the PC version, new Offense hero Sombra will not be making an appearance in the "Overwatch" free weekend deal, as reported by Gamespot. The new Arcade mode and the "Ecopoint: Antarctica" arena map, which are major features included in Patch 1.5 are not also available for the weekend deal; As these are currently in observation in the PTR.
Guides for installing the game in different consoles have also been posted, according to PC Gamer. PS4 users can search "Overwatch" in the PlayStation Network by inputting the keyword: "Overwatch Free Weekend" in the search bar. The same applies to Xbox One users using Xbox Live. For PC players, it is recommended by downloading the Battle.net desktop app. Click the "Overwatch" icon located on the left-hand, select a region and click "Install."
