Hillary Clinton Campaigns with Katy Perry in crucial States ahead of the Presidential election

Hillary Clinton's bid to make history as America's first woman president ended in failure after Republican opponent Donald Trump won by large margin. Even if the Democratic party's campaign was star-studded, Clinton was not able to secure the presidential post at the White House.

A few days before the election, both candidates were busy campaigning by visiting big states. Clinton campaigned with an army of celebrities who voiced out their support for the democratic candidate.

Daily Mail UK reported that top celebrities either show up or perform at Clinton's rallies and this include Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Meryl Streep, Bruce Springsteen and Lena Dunham. But then, Trump led the 2016 polls and this made people question the significance of celebrity influence.

Moreover, in the last leg of her campaign, she was in Ohio were Trump is said to be the popular choice among the voters there. Clinton appeared with Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James and this was following a night of concert/campaign with Jay Z and Beyoncé.

Prior to these campaign events, Stevie Wonder was on stage with Clinton in Philadelphia while Jennifer Lopez was with the Democrats in Miami. Elsewhere, Rock superstar Jon Bon Jovi was in St. Petersburg in Florida to campaign for Clinton's running mate, Tim Kaine.

Obviously referring to Clinton's celebrity-filled campaign, Trump commented on the presence of Jay Z during his rival's rally the night before. "We don't need Jay Z to fill up arenas. We did it the old-fashioned way," The Guardian quoted Trump as saying.

With the outcome of the polls, there is one lesson to learn from this U.S. 2016 election: Celebrities do not guarantee a win. They may attract a large crowd but getting the votes of those in the audience is another thing.

Meanwhile, ever since Trump has been declared to be the 45th President of the United States, activist groups have been staging protest rallies left and right. Apparently, many Americans could not accept the result of the 2016 elections.
