It seems that Park Bo-Gum, 23, was not too happy about the special HanaTour fan event. The Hallyu star recently held an autograph session with fans at the HanaTour headquarters in Jongno District, Seoul, South Korea.
On Nov. 10, Thursday, the "Reply 1988" actor held an autograph event to promote HanaTour's 10th anniversary online International Travel Show, The Kpop Herald reported. The event, which highlights several travel destinations, winter travel tips, and promotional sales events, was attended by 100 selected individuals.
Several photos of Park during the said event were widely circulated on Twitter. In the photo, the Hallyu star is seen making an adorable face as he humbly declined fans' gifts.
It is not the first time Park refused to accept gifts from fans. The Hallyu star is known for advising fans to be an obedient daughter or son, suggesting that they should save their money instead. He also emphasized that he prefers getting fan letters rather than gifts.
Park, who debuted as an actor in the 2011 thriller film "Blind," experienced tremendous growth in his popularity after he portrayed Crown Prince Lee Yeong in KBS2's "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds." It is said that his popularity has also translated into more business.
"He's firmly established himself as a lead actor through this drama," said Seung Byeong-Wook, a senior official at Park's management agency Blossom Entertainment, in a statement obtained by Yonhap News Agency. "We're getting more than three times as many requests as before for his appearance in dramas."
Seung then revealed Park's plans to travel and shoot a photo album in the America and Europe before the end of the year and hold a series of meet-and-greet events across Asia. With respect to his next project, it was learned that the Hallyu star will choose his next piece in the first half of 2017.
