Samsung Galaxy Note 7, not Galaxy Note 8 vs Galaxy S7 Edge: Specs, features and price comparison

Many have been upset with the negative feedbacks on Samsung Galaxy Note 7. But then, tech enthusiasts are looking forward with the release of Samsung Galaxy Note 8 which is believed to be on the works already.

BGR had learned that a well-known leaker named Evan Blass said on its social media posts that Samsung is making two Galaxy S8 models and a Galaxy Note 8 for next year. He stated "Samsung Galaxy S8 models are indeed skipping SM-G94* model numbers, will ship as SM-G950 & SM-G955". He also added that "Know what else is in the works? SM-N950."

Based on some reference the number 4 is supposed to bring bad luck in Korea, which is why Samsung skips it in numbering schemes. So, in other words, the SM-N950 would be the descendant to the SM-N930*, which is the codename of the Galaxy Note 7.

Although, Samsung may still decide to cancel the Galaxy Note 8, it seems like the South Korean tech company is keenly planning to make a new phablet next year. There were also talks stating that Samsung Electronics is looking to target potential Samsung Galaxy Note 7 buyers with a larger Samsung Galaxy S8 version in 2017.

When it comes with the specs, Christian Daily reported that since Samsung Electronics is known to come out with remarkable camera features, many are expecting that Galaxy Note 8 will have a revamped camera. It might also be paired with a bigger storage and a high-definition (HD) display. Samsung's patrons trust the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be the first device to have 4K display.

Additionally, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8's increased storage capacity is one of the most rumored features as the company has received criticisms with storage. This was because the South Korean smartphone maker is falling behind its rivals with regard to this feature.

As for the release date, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is anticipated to be unveiled during the Mobile World Congress in 2017. Nonetheless, it is not yet confirmed by Samsung so it is advised to wait for further details.
