Bologna is currently in the 13th spot of the Serie A table after struggling in the last seven rounds of Italian top flight competitions. They are still nine points above the bottom three relegation area, tied on point with Genoa and Cagliari, but head coach Roberto Donadoni would want the team to get out of their current slump soonest.

I Rossoblu did just that last Sunday with a 3-1 victory over bottom three team Palermo also at their home stadium of Renato Dall'Ara, snapping a seven-game winless slide, ESPN reported.

Palermo was able to open the scoring in the ninth minute of the contest with a goal from Macedonian forward Ilija Nestorovski, but it was Bologna who would score the last three goals of the match to claim their first win in eight games.

Italian striker Mattia Destro opened the floodgates for Bologna in the 20th minute before midfielders Blerim Dzemaili and Federico Viviani scored one goal each in the 67th and 72nd minute to complete the hosts' three-goal haul.

Meanwhile, Atalanta won its fifth straight game with a 2-1 nipping of powerhouse club Roma at their home field of Atleti Azzurri d'Italia Stadium also last Sunday, as per Channel News Asia.

Roma midfielder Diego Perotti scored the opening goal of the match with a penalty kick in the 40th minute, giving the visitors a one-point advantage at the break.

However, Atalanta managed to pull off a comeback and snatch away the win from I Giallorossi by scoring the next two goals courtesy of defender Mattia Caldara and midfielder Franck Kessie in the 62nd and 90th minutes respectively.

With the win, La Dea has climbed to the fifth spot of the league table. They are tied on point with fourth-running team Lazio but has a lesser goal difference.
