Explore the wonders of the continent of Tamriel as ZeniMax Online Studios unleashes "Elder Scrolls Online" for all Xbox One players with Xbox Live Gold accounts for free this upcoming week. The free weekend event will run for five days, starting on Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 12:01 AM EST and ends on Sunday, Nov. 27 at 11:59 PM EST.
The game requires a total of 80 GB for download. The download can be initiated in the Xbox Store once the event has started and the game will immediately be playable afterwards. Player stats, achievements and game data will be preserved if the player decides to buy the game after the weekend deal, according to Gamespot. The free access of the game also gives players 500 crowns to spend to the Crown store which consists of various trinkets and upgrades. Crowns are also up for sale.
The "Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Edition" will be available for a special price during the free weekend, as posted in the official Xbox Wire announcement. No exact price has been said yet. Participating in the free weekend deal also automatically enters the players to win one of five trips in the Trip of a Lifetime raffle. Full rules and additional information are provided in the official Elder Scrolls Online contest page.
The first open-ended multiplayer installment that is indirectly connected to the Elder Scrolls franchise, "The Elder Scrolls Online" is an MMORPG developed by ZeniMax Online Studios and was originally released on April 4, 2014 for Microsoft Windows and OSX, as reported by IGN. It was in development for seven years before its 2014 release. The monthly active subscription required to play the game was halted from Mar. 17, 2015, and the game was renamed as "The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited." PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions were released on Jun. 9, 2015.
