The BeatsX earphones which were created in collaboration with Beats By Dre and unveiled by Apple in its September Event.

Apple has already unveiled the BeatsX and is pegged for launching in December.

The BeatsX is a wireless earphone that fits around the user's neck and it was showcased alongside the iPhone 7 lineup in September, but since then, mentions of it have been scarce. However, based on shipping dates listed by retailers, the MacRumors wMacRumors indicated that the earphone could launch in December.

If the December launch pans out, it means that the BeatsX will not be ready for the huge holiday sales period of Black Friday. Meanwhile, the Frys website has started displaying an "estimated" shipping date of Dec. 6 but there is no way for customers to preorder the BeatsX.

Another popular retail website B&H has the earphones listed but the availability date is different and listed here on Dec. 16. However, on this particular website, people can go ahead and pre-order the BeatsX. This difference in shipping dates has created some confusion which has been likened to current rumors surrounding the availability of the AirPods.

As for the AirPods that were also announced in the September event, there are indications that their arrival in the market could be delayed until January 2017. However, a rumor which pointed towards it arriving on November 17, Thursday was proved wrong.

In spite of the BeatsX launch date rumors heating up, Apple has not provided any official news as to when the earphones will be available in the market. Its website has only indicated that customers can expect it to arrive in the fall, which could point towards the earphones being available in time for the Christmas gift-giving season.

The BeatsX was "new earphone" reported CNET, when it was unveiled at the Apple event in September and it outlined that the others namely the PowerBeats Wireless 3 and the Solo3 Wireless were updates on previously existing versions. The BeatsX earphone has the Apple W1 chip which is designed to help save power and users will be able to use it for up to 8 hours. It also has a new design and has a neckband which will allow users to fit it around their neck.
