"Injustice 2" so-called release date confirmation is once again surfacing online, a testament to the success of "Injustice: Gods Among Us." Apart from the release topics, rumors of crossover happening in the upcoming game release likewise continues to proliferate online.

Although there is still no confirmation about the exact release date of "Injustice 2" nor of its exact game title, experts and gamers alike are already assured of an upcoming release of the game's follow-up. And as most rumors and speculations would suggest, the hit fight-game based on DC Comics superheroes would likely be released early 2017.

With the timeline suggesting an early release, it would somehow be safe to assume that the much-anticipated game sequel would likely be released on April 2017, that is if game developer, NetherRealm Studios, would pattern their release date with the previous release date of the "Gods Among Us."

Aside from the confirmation of sequel release, another hot topic being discussed online is the supposed additional characters of the said video game. NetherRealm Studios would like the sequel of "Gods Among Us" to be more interesting and entirely new, thus suggesting character expansion.

"Expanding the DC Universe in games continues to be one of our top priorities, and "Injustice 2" showcases incredible gameplay and an original story to bring the characters to life for players. NetherRealm Studios is offering fans an experience of customizing and battling with DC's iconic characters in an entirely new way," FragHero quoted Haddad as saying.

In the previous months, it has been reported that Ed Boon of NetherRealm mentioned of the inclusion of Super Girl, Atrocitus, Gorilla Grodd as new characters of the game. However, it seems like the imagination of passionate players has no ending. As previously reported in a separate article, Mortal Kombat characters have also been pegged to join the DC Universe in the upcoming sequel release of "Injustice" video game.

Meanwhile, in connection with character expansion, ComicBookMovie hints that Watchmen characters will somehow make a crossover in the much anticipated game sequel since its debut in 2013. And if such character expansion would be followed, then it would not be unusual for us to see the likes of Rorschach, Dr. Manhattan, Raiden, and Sub-zero fighting against our favorite DC characters as part of "Injustice 2" gameplay.
