The "Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc" manga is going to have an anime adaptation, scheduled to be aired in 2018. The arc is a continuation of the original "Cardcaptor Sakura" series from the late 1990s.

According to Anime News Network, the upcoming anime will be aired on NHK in Japan. It will once again be directed by Morio Asaka, the same director who helmed the original series. Similarly, some voice cast members will be returning, which include: Sakura Tange as the lead character Sakura Kinomoto; Aya Hisakawa as the guardian of the Clow Cards Keroberos aka Kero-chan; Junko Iwao as Sakura's best friend Tomoyo Daidōji; Motoko Kumai as Sakura's ally and love interest Syaoran Li; Tomokazu Seki as Sakura's older brother Tōya Kinomoto; and Megumi Ogata as Yukito Tsukishiro aka Yue, the other guardian of the Clow Cards.

The "Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc" manga is serialized in Kodansha's Nakayosi magazine. The story continues where the original series left off. Sakura and Tomoyo are now in Junior High School. Syaoran is with them, having returned to Japan from Hong Kong.

The new adventures begin when Sakura dreams of a cloaked figure, after which she loses her powers and her cards become blank. As she tries to figure out what has gone wrong, she and her friends discover cards that are strangely transparent. Using a new key, they start to capture the clear cards.

2016 marks the 20th anniversary of the original "Cardcaptor Sakura" manga series, written and illustrated by the all-female Japanese manga artist group Clamp. It was first published in May 1996 and ran until June 2000. Its 70-episode anime adaptation aired from April 1998 to March 2000, which received an 8.18 average rating from 97,368 users at MyAnimeList.com.

The "Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc" manga began in July this year and the television series will start airing in January 2018.
