John Cena salutes the crowd at WWE SummerSlam 2015.

WWE's top superstar John Cena is expected to miss more time from the wrestling ring as he's picked to be one of the casts n Kay Cannon's directorial debut, The Pact, the Variety confirmed it on Monday.

Cena, who has already missed this year's Survivor Series and will miss another SmackDown exclusive PPV event TLC on December 4 due to his commitment with the second season of Fox's American Grit, is slowly becoming an in-demand name in Hollywood the past few years.

According to Variety via Lords of Pain, Cena has been picked by Cannon along with Ike Barinholtz and Leslie Mann to take on key characters in the Pact, which will follow three parents who, upon discovering that their daughters have made a pact to lose their virginities on prom night, go out and try and stop them before it's too late.

As to when the project begins remains undisclosed.

-Meanwhile, Blake Oestriecher speculated about a possible surprise return by Cena at TLC this coming Sunday.

While the Face that runs the Place isn't advertised to appear in any WWE event until December 26 live event at Madison Square Garden in New York., a Cena return shouldn't be ruled out, not only because he's Super Cena, but also he has some unfinished business against Dean Ambrose and current WWE champ AJ Styles.

As we all know, the Phenomenal One managed to defeat him in all their one-on-one matches so far.

Forbes.com:

"John Cena is not advertised to return to WWE until the December 26 live event in Madison Square Garden, but what's notable about his return match is that it's scheduled to be a Triple Threat match against Styles and Ambrose.

That makes sense because Cena seems to have unfinished business with both superstars. "The Champ" has never defeated Styles one-on-one, recently lost to Ambrose in singles action on SmackDown and lost to both in a Triple Threat match at No Mercy last month. Thus, his return feud will likely be against either Styles or Ambrose, with the possibility of him challenging one or both of them for the WWE World title at The Royal Rumble."

WWE TLC will take place this Sunday at American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas.
