With 2017 around the corner, rumors are mounting that Apple will bring out a new tablet in the iPad lineup the 10.9-inch iPad Pad Pro 2, and below is a collection of its specs and features that have been popping up on the Internet.
Rumors about new devices and their features gather pace just before they are released. Going by this trend it appears that the iPad Pad Pro 2 is going to be a 10.9-inch model or a slightly smaller 10.5 inch version.
When it comes to screen type the upcoming iPad Pro 2 is expected to have almost no bezels, reported the blog Mac Otakara. With bezels being reduced the upcoming 10.9 inch version will mimic the footprint of the 9.7 inch model which will be a boon to those who do not want to carry around heavy tablets but like big screens. Other rumors have also hinted that Apple will be switching to OLED screens on the iPad Pro line-up soon, but it will only be able to introduce them in 2018.
Big design changes are also expected when the iPad Pro 2 releases and it is thought that the home button will be missing from it. This removal of the home button is expected to also happen in the iPhone 8 lineup so it is not surprising. In addition to this, Apple is expected to use dual cameras on the iPad Pro 2 after it got a good reception on the iPhone 7 Plus this year.
In terms of a release date, several are being pointed to by analysts, and DigiTimes reported that Apple will start production on the upcoming iPad Pro 2 model this month, and it will ship in the first quarter of next year. Since this particular rumor emerged from the Apple's supply chain in Asia it is being taken seriously. Added to this, analysts are pointing towards Apple updating the existing 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro and so users will have three iPad Pro 2 models to choose from.
Other features that are expected to find a place on the upcoming iPad Pro 2 is a headphone jack, and an Apple A10X chipset which has already been showing up in leaked benchmark tests. With rumors about the iPad Pro 2 continuing to swirl it looks likely that Apple is betting heavily on the lineup to boost sales of its tablets.
