Bayern Munich has relinquished the top spot in the Bundesliga standings to RB Leipzig after being winless in two of their last four games while the newly-promoted side remained undefeated after 13 rounds this term.

The Bavarians managed to win their last two games to stay three points below Leipzig in the overall standings and three points above third-running team Hertha Berlin.

Head coach Carlo Ancelotti's side routed middling team Mainz, 3-1, on the road at the Coface Arena in their most recent match last Friday, as per Goal.

Mainz drew first blood with a fourth-minute goal by Colombian forward Jhon Cordoba off an assist from teammate Yunus Malli with a through ball following a fast break.

Bayern netted the next three goals to complete the comeback win, with Polish striker Robert Lewandowski scoring a brace in the eighth minute and in stoppage time while Dutch midfielder Arjen Robben hitting one in the 21st.

Meanwhile, Wolfsburg continued its descent in the German top flight table after a sorry 2-3 loss to Hertha Berlin last Saturday at their own home field of Volkswagen Arena, via ESPN.

The Wolves opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a right-footer from forward Borja Mayoral, but it was immediately equalized four minutes later by Hertha defender Marvin Plattenhardt.

Wolfsburg took the lead once again in the 18th with a goal by midfielder Paul Seguin. Hertha midfielder Alexander Esswein was able to level the count in the 69th minute before Seguin was sent off with a second yellow card in the 87th.

Head coach Valérien Ismaël's boys then conceded the winning goal in injury time as Ivorian forward Salomon Kalou converted a penalty kick from a foul by Wolfsburg midfielder Daniel Caligiuri.
