The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is displayed at the New York International Auto Show at the Javits Center on March 24, 2016 in New York City.

American car manufacturer Chevrolet will be offering the 1LE track package for the V6 engine version of its 2017 Camaro LT Coupe. This is the first time that the factory-upgrade option will become available for the engine variant since its introduction back in the late '80s. The package will also be offered for the V8 Camaro SS model.

The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro LT 1LE boasts a lighter but stiffer structure, a magnetic FE3 track-grade suspension, and a more aggressive Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. The muscle car also delivers an estimated 0.97 g of lateral grip as well as a set of more powerful 4-piston Bembro brake calipers at the front, according to the company's official announcement.

"With a curb weight under 3,500 pounds, excellent front-to-rear weight balance and the precision of the FE3 suspension, the Camaro LT 1LE offers unmatched capability in its class." said Camaro chief engineer Al Oppenheiser. "As a result, it offers incredible performance for Camaro V6 customers."

The 3.6-liter V6 engine with Direct Injection and Variable Valve Timing, paired with the standard tactile 6-speed manual transmission, produces 335 horsepower and 284 pound-feet of torque. It can push the new Camaro from 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds and, according to Autoblog, it can conquer a quarter-mile run in 13.7 seconds at 102 mph.

Similarly, the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro V8 SS 1LE also has an enhanced chassis system, but it is built with an all-new FE4 suspension with Magnetic Ride Control and Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires that are specifically made for the car series. Moreover, it features an exclusive electronic limited-slip differential and standard RECARO front seats to hold its occupants down when performing lateral acceleration that exceeds 1g.

Its 6.2-liter V8 engine mated with a 6-speed manual transmission can generate up to 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque. It can reach 60 mph from a standstill position in 4.3 seconds.

2017 Chevrolet Camaro 1LE Performance Package will be available in late 2016.
