Attack on Titan Season 2 will be making its premiere in April next year, according to Bessatsu Monthly Shonen Magazine. Eren Yeager, Mikasa Ackerman, Armin Artlert and the rest of the Survey Corps will be back to slash down more Titans this coming Spring.
"The January 2017 issue of Bessatsu Shonen Magazine is announcing that Hajime Isayama's Attack On Titan manga will debut its second season in April 2017. The series was previously announced to have a second season in production at the Shingeki Matsuri event in July 2016," as noted on January 2017 edition of Bessatsu Monthly Shonen.
Things to Know about Shingeki no Kyojin Season 2:
-Tetsuro Araki will be directing the second season of Attack on Titan anime series. After the success of the first season, Araki worked on with another massive anime project with WIT Studio, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress. He will be once again overseeing production as the chief director for SNK Season 2.
-The source material for Season 2 will still be Isayama's best-selling manga. Shingeki no Kyojin manga series has now covered 88 chapters and 22 volumes since its debut in September 2009.
-The story will presumably pick off where the previous season left off: the aftermath of war between the Rogue and Female Titan at Stohess District of Wall Sina. Although details of the upcoming season haven't been released, it will likely cover the Clash of the Titans arc, the Uprising arc and probably some part of Return to Shiganshina arc.
-New characters will be introduced in Season 2. The Beast Titan is undoubtedly the most prominent character that will be appearing in the upcoming season, not only because of his sheer size but his huge implication in the story.
Moreover, more mysteries will be revealed such as the identity of the Colossal Titan and Beast Titan, the ruler within the wall, and Historia and the Reiss Family.
-Attack on Titan and Shingeki no Kyojin chapter 88 is now available in the January 2017 edition of Bessatsu Monthly Shonen magazine. The issue is also confirming that a Blu-ray box set with the entirety of Season 1 is set to be released on March 15, 2017.
