New details on "Overwatch" will feature the "Christmas" DLC event next week and a "Hide and Seek" game mode.
The official "Overwatch" Twitter page tweeted that the launching of the game's "Christmas" event will happen on Dec. 13. The "Christmas" event in "Overwatch" was first discovered by Reddit username Venxa as clues as several audios from the game were found with numerous character interaction and a jingle or song pertaining to the holidays.
NeoGaf username Nirolak stated that the aforementioned jingle could refer to an upcoming holiday-themed event for "Overwatch". Blizzard Entertainment will likely set to introduce the new event similar to the Summer Games and Halloween events few months back. Players may be introduced to items specifically designed for the Christmas season.
There is also a new game mode called "Arena Mode" as Athena announcement lines have also been leaked online. These include" Now entering the arena" as well as the "Gladiator". Moreover, a loading sound clip has also been revealed.
It is unknown what kind of gameplay will "Arena Mode" will have but it will likely be a gladiator type match were in everyone will fight each other, iTechPost reported.
In other news, several gamers made a "hide and seek" meta during a 3vs3 elimination match as they found a way to make the game mode worth while.
Gamers lend several strategies that players can use in order to evade their enemies. For instance, Sombra’s abilities lend themselves well to the user-made game mode as not only can she teleport out of danger but she can also turn invisible too. As all characters’ positions are revealed when there’s a minute left in the round, Sombra’s invisibility ability cannot help players all of the time, but if a teammate is playing as Mei, then quick placement of her wall can help players get out of dodge.
Other characters suited to "Overwatch's" hide and seek include Lucio, due to his increased movement speed and Tracer for her dashes. Junkrat is considered to be a solid hide and seek pick as his ‘lounging’ emote allows him to go horizontal and hide behind bits of scenery and even go camouflage by lying on deck chairs in the Eco-point: Antarctica map, Gamerant reported.
"Overwatch" is currently available for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
