The Catholic Church has long recognized the importance of having a confession. With its launching of a smartphone app, the said importance has somehow been reaffirmed, especially for the faithful of today's generation.

With the advent of technology, it would not be unusual that even one of the oldest institution on earth would take advantage of its use. The Catholic Church, in their campaign to straighten the exercise of confession, managed to launch a smartphone application, according to Breitbart News.

According to the report, the person behind this ingenious idea is a Spanish priest Father Ricardo Latorre. With the help of the mobile app dubbed as "Confesor GO," lay faithful can now easily locate available an priest within the diocese or city.

The mobile app. makes use of global positioning technology to feed users list of available confessors. This is made possible only when a priest is likewise using the app, thus data would be cross-referenced to the proximity of the priest available for confession the person needing one.

The latest app. does not only serve as a map for faithful to follow and for priests to be found. Apart from the unique main feature of the application, it also gives access to faithful the name of the priest, age, date of ordination, and even picture of the priest.
