John Wall's growing frustration with the Washington Wizards could open up a possibility for the Miami Heat to acquire the All-Star point guard.
Frustration continues to build up on Wall as the Wizards continue to struggle to keep their winning ways. After scoring a career-high 52 points in the Wizards' loss to the Orlando Magic last week, Wall voiced his frustrations over the team's inability to win games, particularly poor efforts from his teammates.
"Everybody has a job and they have to go work hard. Our job is to come here and play hard and compete. That's the easiest thing that you should do without any contracts or money: just come out and play basketball," Wall said, reports CBS Local.
There have been speculations about the Wizards possibly trading Wall if the team's disappointing campaign in the 2016-2017 season continues. Considering Wall's immense talent, many teams would surely trip over to pitch offers for the services of the Wizards star.
The Miami Heat, who have lost all of their remaining stars (Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade) during the offseason, could take advantage of the Wizards' chemistry issues, according to Ira Winderman of the Sun-Sentinel.
"Yet the one thing I will acknowledge is that there do appear to be chemistry issues with the Wizards, something a coaching change seemingly hasn't solved. And the one thing about Riley is that distressed property does seem to be his real estate, be it Alonzo Mourning, Tim Hardaway, Shaquille O'Neal or even Dragic, himself," Winderman noted.
The only way the Wizards would make Wall available is via rebuilding the team. Bill Simmons, a renowned NBA analyst, explored such scenario in his latest podcast, insisting that the Wizards should trade Wall and "do a complete tankapalooza."
With that being said, any potential deal for Wall would likely involve the Heat's young talents in Josh Richardson, Justise Winslow and Tyler Johnson, as well as future draft picks. Goran Dragic, who has also been linked to trade rumors, could also be a trade chip for the Heat.
It remains to be seen whether the Heat have any interest in trading for Wall. But without any star, it would be difficult for Miami to become contenders. Wall's growing frustrations and the Wizards' downhill trend could offer the Heat a chance to speed up the process of competing for a title.
