Michaels, who is promoting his upcoming movie "The Resurrection of Gavin Stone," stressed that returning to the squared circle is far from his mind, simply because he's happy with his life right now

"No one has even contacted me about that show. I don't know if anyone cares that I'm from there," Michaels said. "I think the WWE has happily moved on from me."

"I met AJ Styles once, he's a phenomenal young man," Michaels said. "He's [a] very nice, very respectable young man and is unbelievably talented. I'm honored that my name pops up darn near every week in people's wish for guys to wrestle. That's a compliment to me and I'm thankful of that. But I'm very comfortable with my life and being retired."

Shawn Michaels' name pops out as potential competition on the WWE legend's contract ahead of the 2017 Royal Rumble in San Antonio, Texas. 20-years ago also in San Antonio, the show-stopper pup up one of his best in-ring performance of his career after beating Psycho Sid for the WWE Championship before a record-breaking crowd at the Alamodome.

As far AJ Styles' potential opponent in the Rumble, there are rumors WWE creative is pushing for a Styles vs. the Undertaker title match. Style, the former TNA and NWJP Champion, is enjoying phenomenal rookie year in WWE, as he main-evented a number of PPV events already and dominated John Cena in one of the best feuds this year.
