Apple is officially launching the standalone iOS Support app. iPhone and iPad users in the United States will finally be able to handle problems in an easier way through the mobile application from the Cupertino-based tech giant.
Even if the Internet holds most of the answers for common problems with smartphones, it can be cumbersome for other people to actually search for their solution online. Others flock the forums to ask for answers but it can take time before a kind soul replies.
Apple already launched the iOS Support app in Italy and the Netherlands despite having a larger number of its customers in the U.S. but the Cupertino-based company is now launching the app in the country, CNET reported. There are also plans of rolling out the said app in other countries but they were not disclosed yet.
The iOS Support app allows users to call, send a message or email to a qualified Apple support member regarding issues with their products. If there is something wrong with the video player on the iPhone 7, they can use the app to ask for assistance.
iOS customers can also set an appointment at the nearest Apple Store if the problem is with the device's hardware. There are also several articles and documentation for the common issues faced by the users. Users can usually speak with an Apple support member in just two minutes, Mac World reported.
Customers who want to talk via phone call can wait around 10 minutes. The duration of the waiting time can also vary depending on the time of the day. It can be a good alternative for those who are lazy to search for solutions online or if their case is unique.
Lucky people who will receive or buy a new iPhone 7 in the holiday season would probably benefit from the iOS support app. If they have a problem out of the box, they would be able to seek assistance in a matter of minutes.
