"Supergirl" Season 2 will return on Jan. 16, 2017 with episode 9 titled "Supergirl Lives." One of the things viewers want to know is the secret of Mon-El (Chris Wood) and the reaction of Kara Danvers/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) when it will be revealed to her.
Aliens are hunting Mon-El down. Considering this, it is likely that Kara will not react to his secret very well.
"Secrets are never healthy in a relationship and obviously Mon-El is holding onto something," Entertainment Weekly quoted "Supergirl" executive producer Andrew Kreisberg as saying. "We got a little taste that his life on Daxam might not be as over as we think from the glimpse of the space farers, who are on the hunt for him, so it will definitely play a big part in their relationship moving forward."
Some fans believe that Mon-El is actually the Daxamite prince. Kreisberg refused to either confirm or invalidate the theory.
"Supergirl Lives" is directed by Kevin Smith, who has also directed two episodes of "The Flash." On the big screen, he is directing the upcoming comedy horror film "Moose Jaws" starring himself, Johnny Depp, Lily-Rose Depp, Harley Quinn Smith, Genesis Rodriguez, Jason Mewes and Harley Morenstein, among others.
Joining Wood and Benoist in "Supergirl Lives" are Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh, Jeremy Jordan, Floriana Lima, David Harewood and Ian Gomez. They play James Olsen, Alex Danvers, Winn Schott, Maggie Sawyer, J'onn J'onzz and Snapper Carr, respectively.
Before joining the cast of "Supergirl," Wood starred in several TV series. He played Adam Weaver in "The Carrie Diaries" from 2013 to 2014 and Kai Parker in "The Vampire Diaries" from 2014 to 2015.
In November, Wood talked about playing a character on a regular basis in an interview with Empire. He said it is inevitable for actors to carry some weight of a role they have done with them.
"If it's a romcom, or something like 'Supergirl,' or something that lives in that sort of world, it doesn't require as much of you to change if that makes sense," Wood told the publication. Watch the "Supergirl" actor talk about his former "The Vampire Diaries" co-star Ian Somerhalder here:
