Visitors look at smartphones at the Lenovo stand at the 2015 IFA consumer electronics and appliances trade fair on Sept. 4, 2015 in Berlin, Germany.

The Lenovo Yoga 910 hybrid laptop can be considered as one incredible convertible. Lenovo rounded up the issues from its predecessor, the Yoga 900, and made sure that the problems are not passed down to the next model. The result is a more portable form factor, an almost edge-to-edge display screen, a longer battery life and several more upgrades.

Design

The Yoga series has been around for several years now and the Chinese tech company has continued to refine the model. Its hinge mechanism has been greatly improved over the years and its reliability has increased significantly. Primarily, it can be a laptop or a tablet, but due to its flexibility, it can be transformed to anything in between.

The industrial metal design is also deemed as a stunner. Lenovo has created the perfect blend in terms of visual aesthetics with the brush-metal accents of its lid and keyboard area. Owners will feel they have a premium hybrid laptop and not just an ordinary hybrid, not to mention that it is lightweight at only 3.04 lbs. (1.38 kg.) and slim, too.

Display

The Lenovo Yoga 910 offers up to 4K high-definition touchscreen display. Users will also not have a hard time seeing what is on the 13.9-inch screen due to its wide viewable angle. However, its main attraction is its nearly bezel-less design, which means that the screen occupies almost the entire lid. A 1920 x 1080 full HD variant is also available.

Internals

The latest Yoga model is also equipped to handle almost any given task with its powerful sixth generation Intel Core i7 processor. Its system memory starts at 8GB, upgradable up to 16GB DDR4. Its storage is now faster with its PCIe SSDs that starts from 256GB up to 1TB capacity. However, its video graphics card is limited to an Intel HD Graphics 620, which is built for casual gaming only.

Additionally, the Lenovo Yoga 910 comes with a fingerprint scanner, JBL stereo speakers with Dolby Audio Premium technology, and dual microphone array with noise cancellation. Its 4-cell battery can provide up to 9 hours of local video playback.

It also comes equipped with a two-level brightness backlit keyboard and offers a satisfying click. Ars Technica commented that its right Shift key is significantly smaller and right-handed persons may find it an issue.

Price

The Lenovo Yoga 910 price tag starts at $1,179.99, while the highest model is priced at $1,649.99. Just for comparison, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 starts at $899, while the Microsoft Surface Book's lowest model carries a $2,399 price tag.
