'Days of our Lives' Dec. 19 to 23 spoilers: Major character headed for a surprise come back?

| Dec 20, 2016 08:38 AM EST

'Days of Our Lives' stars Billy Flynn and Jen Lilley present the Emmy for Outstanding Game Show Host at the 43rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards on May 1, 2016 in Los Angeles, California.

Although fans are used to witnessing characters returning from the dead, they may be surprised if the succeeding episodes will feature Nick Fallon becoming alive again. This is not anything new with the show. In fact, several key characters like Roman Brady, John Black, Stefano DiMera, Hope Brady, Marlena Evans, Jack Deveraux have all returned after being hinted as dead by the soap.

Speculations became rife about Nick's dramatic return when actor Blake Berris who played the said character, tweeted he has a surprise for fans of the day time TV program, ending his statement with a winking emoji, Soap Hub reported. It can be recalled that Berris' character was shot and killed by his ex-wife Gabi Hernandez when he threatened Sonny Kiriakis.

Nick's death became a mystery to solve until Gabi admitted to killing the former. Upon confession, the latter was sent to prison while her daughter with Will was taken under Will and Sonny's custody.

Meanwhile, aside from Nick's comeback, several speculations for the upcoming week's episode were also casted. According to Soap Central, the annual holiday traditions will be featured in Salem with the Horton family conducting their yearly family tree trimming activity.

Despite the merry theme for this week, characters are not exempted from the drama. While Sonny, Gabi and Dario will spend time at the hospital, Rafe will attempt to brighten up Hope's day as he will urge her to believe she may be freed any time soon.

Justin and Adrienne may be up for a rekindling of feelings as the former attempt to help his ex-lover in her battle with cancer. Kate will be seen supporting Adrienne which the latter will appreciate.

On the other hand, spoilers for Tuesday, Dec. 20 showcases Phillip confronting Demois while knocking him down after the former found out Demois drugged and kidnapped him. Meanwhile, Eve and Demois will have a moment together, but it is not anything but friendly.

"Days of our Lives" airs weekdays on NBC. For other details on the upcoming episodes of "Days of our Lives" this week, check out the video below.
