Avid Song Ji Hyo fans can look forward to seeing the "Running Man" cast member in a new show come January 2017. The South Korean actress will host her own beauty program with actor Gong Myung and fashion designer Katiacho as her fellow MCs.
Song, as well as her co-hosts Gong and Katiacho, will soon impart interesting and valuable beauty secrets in an upcoming JTBC program. Titled "Song Ji Hyo's Beauty View," fans can expect to see the "Running Man" cast member interviewing beauty experts and other industry gurus.
Recently, Gong's agency Fantagio Entertainment shared in a statement, as obtained by All Kpop, that the upcoming JTBC program will give the actor a chance to show a different side of himself. Despite the "Drinking Solo" star's lack of hosting experience, Gong is looking forward to joining Song's new beauty program.
Meanwhile, the upcoming JTBC show will mark the first time that Song will appear in a TV variety program aside from "Running Man." Given the impending end of the long-running SBS show, the new beauty program will allow the "This Week, My Wife is Having an Affair" actress to continue meeting her fans in the coming year.
Song, as well as fellow "Running Man" cast member Kim Jong Kook, were at the center of a controversy that involved the two South Korean celebrities' exit from the SBS program. Both cast members were not given the proper notice about the showrunners' decision to remove them from the show.
Kim was advised through a phone conversation just a few days before news of his exit became viral, while Song only learned of the producers' decision through news headlines. Despite the "Running Man" team ironing out the miscommunication issues amongst themselves, the cast and crew decided to end the show in early 2017.
Song and Kim will still remain as cast members until "Running Man" airs its final episode. However, a source shared with Korea Herald that the two celebrities have decided to donate the remaining talent fees that they will receive from the SBS show.
"Running Man" will air its series finale in February 2017, while Song's new beauty program will premiere on Jan. 19, 2017 on JTBC. Watch a clip from "Running Man" below:
