For a long time, fans have been speculating when "Prison Break" Season 5 will air following the Season 4 finale in 2009. Recent spoilers have brought good news for fans, after it has been revealed that the highly-anticipated Fox series may take a spring release date in 2017.

"Prison Break" Season 5 spoilers have revealed that Michael Scofield's (Wentworth Miller) brother Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) will be ready to make the biggest escape in the series' history as he lead the gang that includes T-Bag (Robert Knepper), C-Note (Rockmond Dunbar) and Sucre (Amaury Nolasco) to free Michael from Yemeni cell. The official trailer also hints that T-Bag, who informed Lincoln that Michael is alive, may be betraying Michael, according to iDigital Times.

T-Bag's friendship with Michael and Lincoln will be put into test when "Prison Break" Season 5 returns. T-Bag is ready to sacrifice his friendship with the brothers for his own benefits. Betrayal will be one of the subjects in the coming episodes of Season 5 that will give Knepper a longer onscreen exposure as he assumes a major role.

It could be remembered that Fox made its announcement in August that it is reviving the series. Soon, several cast confirmed their return in Season 5. All the cast will be onboard except for Alexander Mahone (William Fichtner) and Donald Self (Michael Rapaport). In an interview with Digital Spy, Knepper said that series creator Paul Scheuring could not think of any good plan of the characters.

Several new faces were announced for "Prison Break" Season 5. Mark Feuerstein casts as Scott Ness, the new husband of Dr. Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies); Sheba (Inbar Lavi) is Lincoln's new love interest; Rick Yune as Ja; Augustus Prew as Whip; Amin El Gamal, cast as Cyclops; Marina Benedict as A&W; and Kunal Sharma as Sid.

When the new chapter begins, fans will be able to know why Michael faked his death. Spoilers have revealed that he deceived everyone of his death because of the ISIS. As Purcell previously revealed, Michael has become a part of a government plan that left a mark on him.

"Prison Break" Season 5 features 9 episodes and will take "Bones" Thursday night primetime slot at 9 p.m. Check out Season 5's trailer:
