NES Classic Edition

Nintendo's NES Classic Edition has been in high demand in the past few months and the scantiness of the retro console has made it hard to find this holiday season. Amazon,  GameStop, and Nintendo's New York City store are giving shoppers a chance to get the Christmas gift under the tree or as a stocking stuffer. This is the last chance to buy a mini NES unit before Christmas Day.

Amazon has announced flash sales. The tech giant's one-day delivery service Prime Now is selling the classic console in 14 United States cities: Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Cincinnati, Columbus, Miami, Minneapolis, Indianapolis, Nashville, Orlando, Richmond, Tampa, Virginia Beach, and Washington D.C.,

This sale is only available to Amazon Prime members who live inside the delivery zone of the 14 U.S. cities. Stock will also probably be very limited.

GameStop is also giving fans of classic NES games a chance to buy a NES Classic system before Christmas Day.  It received a limited shipment of mini NES consoles on sale at physical stores until December 22, Thursday.

Walmart and Target have also received limited stock of the Nintendo console. Many Target stores are offering a ticketing system so shoppers can get a NES Classic without waiting outside a Target store all night after it gets a shipment, according to BGR.

Nintendo's tiny console is also back in stock at its NYC store, according to GameSpot.  The company announced the $60 unit would be available on December 22, Thursday  starting at 2 p.m., with a limit of one unit per guest. Nintendo's Big Apple store is located at 10 Rockefeller Plaza.

NES Classic is also available through secondary sales. eBay, for example, is offering the gaming console for about $200 and $50 for overnight shipping. Craigslist's prices are a little lower but buyers might have to meet sellers in person.

Nintendo's NES Classic Edition includes 30 built-in games including "Super Mario Bros," "The Legend of Zelda," and "Pac-Man." The original console was released in Japan in 1983 and in North America two years later.

NPD Group reported that over 196,000 NES Classic units were sold in November.
