New details and possible spoilers for "Wonder Woman" will feature the God Killer sword's purpose in the film and Queen Hippolyta appearing in the "Justice League" live-action movie.
A photo from the "Wonder Woman" features Diana Prince/Wonder Woman stealing a powerful weapon called the "God Killer" sword, defying her mother, Queen Hippolyta's (Connie Nielsen) orders on not to fight for humanity and leave her home of Theymiscra to join Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) in Europe.
Film director Patty Jenkins told Entertainment Weekly that Diana's actions in "Wonder Woman" is a stepping for her individuality as saving man's world is her "moment" even though she knows that man's world will be full of horrors and corruption, Diana makes it her priority to save it, since the whole world will be in dire danger including her home.
As the name suggest, the God Killer sword will be used in the majority of the "Wonder Woman" film as it hinted and speculated by many fans that she could use it to kill Ares, the God of War under the guise of German officer played by "Frankenstein" actor Danny Huston.
The speculation started with a glimpse of Wonder Woman using her lasso of truth against Huston's character as she flings him to the air and slams him hard to the ground. This suggest that Huston's German officer is no ordinary man, but something else entirely.
Huston's character is theorized to be Ares as the Greek God of War has been known to use disguises in instigating conflict, war and bloodshed to make himself more powerful. Ares has been an enemy of Wonder Woman and the Amazons in the DC comics, as he plans to use World War 1 to fuel his hunger.
Aries presents could also influence Diana's world view of humanity as the mission causes her to turn her back on the world for the following century, saving the day, but Ares had awoken a hunger for death in mankind, insisting on tearing itself apart for decades to come. Perhaps most importantly, it could deliver an emotionally devastating blow to Diana personally as well.
It is also speculated that masked woman who aids Huston's character in the film could be Doctor Poison.
In other news, Warner Bros. confirmed that Queen Hippolyta will be appearing in the "Justice League" live-action film along with Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg), Collider reported.
Hippolyta's return could be connected to the Amazon's participation against Darkseid and the Mother Boses before the events of the film. The Amazons along with the Atlanteans and early humans fough side-by-side against the forces of Apokolips during the early days of earth and each obtained a Mother Boxes as a way to prevent Darkseid from coming to the planet.
The Amazons and Atlanteans hid them in their respected kingdomsl; Theymiscra and Atlantis, while the humans bury it somewhere else, which will likely been discoverd by Victor Stone/Cyborg's (Ray Fisher) father Silas Stone to save his son.
Diana will be joining Bruce Wayne/Batman (Ben Affleck) to fight the forces of Apokalips led by Steppenwolf (Ciaran Hinds) along with the recruited metahumans; Barry Allen/The Flash (Ezra Miller), Arthur Curry/Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Cyborg.
Kal-El/Superman (Henry Cavill) will also join the fight against Apokalips and hints that a member of the Green Lantern corp. might be appearing as well.
"Wonder Woman" will be released in cinemas on Jun 2, 2017.
