The back half of "Supernatural" Season 12 will feature some exciting moments as Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) are set to encounter powerful villains and mythical creatures. However, one of the Winchester brothers' biggest challenges will involve the enigmatic British Men of Letters and their fierce hunting methods.
When "Supernatural" Season 12 returns to the small screens, viewers will witness the aftermath of Sam and Dean's attack on the U.S. President. Featured during the CW series' midseason finale, the U.S. leader was possessed by Lucifer at that time which prompted the two brothers to launch a rescue mission that was viewed as an attack by the governments.
Given the Winchester brothers' capture, many fans speculated that it was the British Men of Letters who actually caught Sam and Dean. However, showrunner Andrew Dabb debunked the said storyline speculations.
In an interview with TVLine, Dabb confirmed that the agents who grabbed the two protagonists were actually members of the U.S. Secret Service. Viewers can also expect to see the British Men of Letters reacting proactively to news about the Winchester brothers' capture.
Moreover, the said organization will play an important role in the second half of "Supernatural" Season 12. In an interview with the same news site, Ackles teased how the Men of Letters will try to recruit Sam and Dean to join their team or form a partnership with the two brothers.
Despite the promise of getting access to the said organization's handy weapon inventory, Sam and Dean will have second thoughts in teaming up with the said group. The organization's hunting methodology will be a point of contention between the two parties, according to Ackles.
The actor added, "There are going to be ... some disagreements about methods of hunting and that will certainly boil to a point. I think we'll find out in the future that maybe their methods aren't the best way."
Showrunner Robert Singer also made a similar comment in an earlier interview with Entertainment Weekly where he mentioned how the British Men of Letters will play an active role in the upcoming episodes of the CW series. The said organization's capabilities will also prove to be very useful in "Supernatural" Season 12 episode 9, according to Singer.
"Supernatural" Season 12 will air its midseason premiere on Jan. 26, 2017 on the CW. Watch a teaser clip for the episode below:
